Darrell’s Park

Through the early 1970s this space was occupied by Davis Paint and a Ben Franklin store. Then it became “Hawkanagh’s Carpet and Decor”. In the late 1970s both buildings burned down, leaving an empty lot. Sometime prior to the 1990s Willard Keinist started planting planting trees and other plants to beautify the space. Eventually, Darrell Gardener cleared the lot and redesigned the space as a “pocket park” on Main Street USA, even though it’s privately owned land.
